Chris Ashton, the new signing by the Aviva Premiership Rugby Union side Saracens FC is in line to make his debut for the side in the first match of the new season when the 2011 champions take on the London Irish in a double header at Twickenham Stoop. Another player who is almost certain to feature for the side is Kelly Brown, who missed almost the entire second half of last season after suffering a leg injury.
According to Director of Rugby Mark McCall, the new season of the Aviva Premiership promises to be more exciting than ever with almost all the teams having brought in players in the close season to strengthen their sides, not only from the country but from all over the world, which goes to show the growing reputation of the league as one of the best competitions in the world in domestic rugby. Speaking about his own team, McCall also sounded pretty confident about their chances of reclaiming the title.
He admitted that the players of Saracens FC had worked extremely hard during pre-season in the summer and the extended period of time they spent together both on the field and off it has enabled the players to develop a strong bond between them which, he is hoping, will pay dividends when the team takes the field against The Exiles. He also stated that the prime objective of the club is to perform consistently and for that to happen, the players need to put in their best efforts every time they step on to the pitch, starting with the match against the London Irish.
The Saracens FC also had time to praise their opposition for Saturday and admitted that the match will definitely not be a walk in the park for the team with their new players.
